What types of projects are exempt?

Here is a list of discharges that would be automatically exempt from SPDES Permit GP-02-01:

1.      Projects requiring another SPDES Permit (e.g., industrial   wastewater, mining, etc.).

  2.      Projects that do not discharge to any of the following:  any wetlands or surface waters (Waters of the State),  any Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4)  (whether regulated under GP-02-02 or not)

3.      Some, but not all, types of agricultural best management practices (BMPs).  Please see SPDES Permit GP-02-01  for a list of exempted BMPs.  Most types of work on agricultural land that disturb an acre or more require a permit!
