AEMWelcome to the age of proactive steps to non-point source pollution potential from agriculture. We have submitted a 5 year strategy to assist all farms in the county with their environmental concerns. The Agricultural Environmental Management Program will be coming to your farm very soon. Please take a moment to talk with the person and allow them to walk you through the steps of AEM and how it can benefit your farm to be a part of this program. TAX EXEMPTSoil group worksheet is generated from our GIS information to produce a map with the soils over a digital ortho photo which also has the tax parcel information. The soils are counted on the values that are in agricultural production. This information is used for Agricultural Assessments. (Fee for mapping) Whole Farm Plans
A whole farm plan is
an action plan for your farm’s future that takes into account all of your farm
resources. It is a customized farm plan that complies with environmental
regulations and is environmentally and financially responsible. It also
recommends BMPs with environmental as well as business objectives in mind.
If you are interested in hearing more about whole farm plans, feel free to call
or e–mail us.
A crop nutrient management program is a tool farmers may use to increase the
efficiency of nutrients. At the same time production risk and environmental
risks will be reduced and profits will be increased
The Farm Service Agency (FSA) administers and manages farm commodity, credit, conservation, disaster and loan programs as laid out by Congress through a network of federal, state and county offices.
These programs are designed to improve the economic stability of the agricultural industry and to help farmers adjust production to meet demand. Economically, the desired result of these programs is a steady price range for agricultural commodities for both farmers and consumers.
